Tina hails from Austin, Texas, where she received her B.S. in Communications (Radio-TV-Film) from the University of Texas at Austin. After working in San Diego as an editor at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, she returned to Austin to serve as managing editor for two sports magazines, Running Through Texas and MetroSports. When her publisher moved the magazines to Dallas, Tina chose to remain in Austin and went to work as Communications Coordinator for the Office of Admissions at the University of Texas. She spent 12 years there working on multitudinous publications, committees, and policy decisions. In 2002, after a 7-year long-distance relationship and numerous visits to Alaska, she decided that her heart belonged outside the Lone Star state. She married, packed, and moved to Anchorage all in one week—and realized she was finally home. Tina lives in Airport Heights with her husband Darrel, son Rory, and a large dog named Jaeger. A voracious reader, Tina also spends her spare time cooking, collecting wine, writing, gardening, bike riding, snowshoeing, and indulging her love of film. She is a former ACF employee who just couldn’t stay away.
