Toby Smith

Toby grew up in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in zoology and several years of pre-veterinary experience. He spent several years working and traveling his way around the world, and after visiting over forty countries and every state except Hawaii, he settled upon Alaska as his adopted home. Toby worked in the Denali National Park region for eight years in various capacities with the educational non-profit Denali Education Center.  In September 2006 Toby moved to Anchorage and joined Alaska Conservation Foundation as the Director of Finance and Operations. He currently serves as Treasurer and Secretary of the Denali Education Center’s Board of Directors, and in May 2008 he completed his MBA degree through the University of Maryland’s acclaimed distance education program.  Today, Toby continues to pursue his passion for photography while exploring Anchorage’s cosmopolitan community and surrounding environs.
