How to Apply for an Internship
ACF seeks applications from highly motivated graduate students, undergraduate students, and recent college graduates interested in furthering their education in the conservation and environmental studies field.
Eligibility
United States citizens who are undergraduate or graduate college students currently enrolled in an accredited college in the United States or US citizens currently enrolled in accredited institutions abroad, or are recent college graduates. ACF is an equal-opportunity organization. At this time, we are only able to offer internships to students or recent graduates who are US Citizens.
Intern Assignments and Placements
Internship candidates compete for assignments in organizations involved with habitat protection, advocacy, conservation biology, energy, policy implementation, marine conservation, environmental/resource management, and wildlife and endangered species protection.
Internship Duration
ACF Conservation Internships are 12 weeks in duration.
Financial Support
ACF provides financial support of a $4,000 stipend, through the host organization, to help cover housing and other living expenses. ACF will also reimburse the cost of lowest cost, round trip airfare to and from the host site, up to $1,000 and booked a minimum of two weeks prior to departure.
Course Credit
Selected interns need to coordinate directly with their universities to obtain course credit for their work.
Students interested in the opportunity to become an ACF intern must complete and submit an internship application and other required materials. All materials must be received at the ACF office by 5 pm on February 15.
